Centene Maintains Leadership in Managed Medicaid Segment as Pandemic Protections Begin to Unwind

• As pandemic protections begin to unwind, Centene leads the Managed Medicaid market with over 14.8 million members in 4Q22, growing by over one million compared to 4Q21.
• Elevance expanded its Medicaid membership by 11%, just under one million members, from 2021 to 2022.
• UnitedHealth experienced the smallest year-over-year growth in membership of the top five carriers, adding only 255,000 (4.1%), with total 4Q22 Medicaid enrollment figures at 6.5 million, based on NAIC filings.
• Molina’s 2022 year-end enrollment stood at 4.5 million, an increase of nearly 10% from 4Q21.
• Independence Blue Cross saw the largest percentage increase of the top five, 11.6%, growing by over 270,000 members.
